Meta Help Center

In Discover, feeds are organized by What’s New and by Category. Switch between the two by clicking “What’s New” or “Feeds by Category” under the banner.

In What’s New, feeds are sorted into shelves, such as Trending Feeds, In the News, Preprints, Methods & Applications, and Spotlight On. These shelves are dynamic and updated weekly based on information Meta extracts from papers, news articles, and social media platforms, or curated by our team based on which feeds we think will be of interest to the community.

Within each shelf, feeds are ordered from left to right according to median predicted Eigenfactor® [see How does Meta rank its content?], a measure of the predicted impact of a paper three years post-publication. The Trending Feeds and In the News shelves are exceptions. They are ordered based on the median number of mentions on Twitter and the fraction of papers mentioned in the news, respectively. Use the arrow keys to browse the feeds in each shelf.
