Meta Help Center

Meta is committed to always providing a safe and secure environment for you to explore, discover, and follow biomedical research. As we improve Meta and make it available to more users, we’re making some changes to our policies that we hope will improve transparency and build trust in our product. On September 23, 2019, our updated  Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy will take effect, and by using Meta on or after that date, you’ll be agreeing to these policies.

You should review the policies in full, but we wanted to highlight some key updates:

  • Updated FAQs. We have responded to the most common questions around Meta’s security and privacy. View the FAQ.
  • More transparency around the cookies and similar technology that Meta uses. We’ve provided information about the specific third-party cookies Meta uses and how you can opt out.
  • More clarity around how Meta uses data. We’ve provided more specific information about how Meta may collect and use certain kinds of data depending on how you use our service.
  • More information about the Knowledge Graph that powers Meta. We use machine intelligence to analyze, organize, and connect information from the millions of biomedical publications we receive from public sources and partners to create our Knowledge Graph. Our updated policy goes into more detail about how we create this Knowledge Graph, including our data sources.
